Sharing Sex Toys

The general rule is simply don’t.  There is a risk of transmitting STD’s.  And while a little soap and water will go along way, we just don’t know how effective that is aganst Hep C.  So don’t!

If you are going to share, throw a rubber on it.  Plus, it makes clean up easier.

As far as cleaning goes, we asked our friends over at CyberRelate for some advice –

There are other types commercial cleaners on the market some of which work especially well on silicone based toys, which are pretty hearty and clean up fine and some that will work on a wide assortment of toys.

The fastest and easiest way to clean them is simply to cover them with a condom, makes clean up a cinch. The washing will remove or kill most common STD’s, but the verdict is still out on Hepatitis C, hence the suggestion to not share toys.

Lube and Sex Toys

A few tips on selecting the right lube for your sex toy –

  • Water-based lubricant works with any sex toy.  And it’s great for condoms.
  • Silicone lubricants are great for his butt, but should never be used with silicone sex toys or on any realistic material toys – such as CyberskinTM,  FuturoticTM,  NeoSkin®,  FauxskinTM,  Soft TouchTM, UltraSkin.  Silicone lubes are latex safe.  Another great thing about silicone lube is that it is water proof – so it works great if you are playing in the shower!
  • Don’t use oil based lubes, massage oils, petroleum jelly, body lotions, or baby oil with anything made of rubber or latex including  condoms (it destroys the latex).
  • Crisco cannot be used with condoms or other rubber toys products without degrading/destroying the rubber.

Preparing for Butt Play

  • What goes in - Everybody poops! OK, now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, diet can influence cleanliness. High fiber items such as oatmeal tend to flow nicely, while red meat and carbs not so much. You might want to tailor your diet a day or so before your big play date.
  • A little prep work – It’s best to take an enema about three hours before any hot anal play. Some guys like to do a series of enemas, until the water comes out clear. Some prefer to do just one. A little practice will help you determine which works best for you.  Also, it’s not uncommon to get an urge to relieve up to 30 minutes later when some hidden pocket of water makes its way through your system. If you misjudged how empty you were, there’s enough time for a touch up.  Sometimes, the prep can be part of the fun.
  • Heat of the Moment – Consider play sheets for easy clean up or put down a towel or two. If either of you notice anything unpleasant, excuse yourself and hit the showers. You can always resume when things are a little fresher, and it may even prolong your play.
